Memory fades, fragments, and changes with time. Photographs can preserve a moment, but they can also transform it, allowing us to revisit places, people, feelings, and versions of ourselves that no longer exist in quite the same way. In this space between what was and how we remember it, photography becomes a way of returning, reimagining, and questioning the past.
Carlotta Gallery and ZOOM OUT Magazine invite photographers from around the world to submit work for Memories, a joint Open Call exploring photography, time, nostalgia, and the act of
looking back.
WHY ZOOM OUT?
ZOOM OUT is a space for photography itself, stripped of the noise that so often makes us forget why we picked up a camera in the first place.

In each Issue, you’ll discover projects from photographers across the globe; spanning different genres, styles, and approaches.
A chance to learn something new, explore, get inspired, and (re)connect.

IT'LL BE A BEAUTIFUL COLLABORATION."
That’s the short, straight-to-the-point definition of ZOOM OUT magazine that came to me on a flight across Europe, a flight where I had enough time to face an uncomfortable personal truth: I’ve been in a creative block for a while.
The online magazine ZOOM OUT is not only my answer to this creative block. It is a place where we, as photographers, can grow alongside our photographic practices, the readers, and alongside one another.
It is a place where competition and comparison step aside, and collaboration takes the lead.​

MEET THE TEAM
BILYANA YORDANOVA
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
I’m Bilyana Yordanova, a London-based photographer specialising in documentary photography and creative portraiture.
With a degree from the British Academy of Photography, I've gained extensive experience in handling photography briefs, managing multiple projects, executing professional no photoshoots, and conducting research.
A highlight of my photography journey was travelling to Kenya to partner with the NGO Every Day Care for Africa, documenting the life at the Blessings Hope school. The organisation helps disadvantaged children and orphans and local communities in rural Kenya by creating self-sustaining systems and organising various skill-developing workshop. This led to a successful fundraising exhibition and recognition in DOCU Magazine, where I co-created a special issue.
I’m currently collaborating with Kennedy Mmaomond, a Kenyan photographer, on a documentary book that
tells the stories of the children at the Blessings Hope school from two perspectives - my European view and his African one. I believe strongly in the importance of representation and partnering with local artists to create authentic narratives.

FEDERICA NATALI
DEPUTY EDITOR
Federica as been part of the ZOOM OUT journey from the beginning.
She first appeared in Issue #1, back in October 2025, with her inspiring project “Temporary is Permanent,” exploring Tiong Bahru, one of Singapore’s earliest public housing projects. She later returned as a Guest Curator for Issues 3 and 4, playing a huge role in shaping the editorial flow and direction of the issues, while continuing to support the project and the ethos behind it.
Born in Italy, Federica’s photographic practice has unfolded across Asia, with a particular interest in the physicality and slowness of analog image-making. She also explores alternative processes such as cyanotype, finding joy and meaning in the meditative rituals of printing and experimentation.
Fede's creative vision and execution as well as her curious approach towards the photographic medium make her a real asset to ZOOM OUT, and it's great to share this "behind the scenes" creative journey with her as ZOOM OUT continues to grow.
