The theme, "Five Eyes: The Land Between," invited both the featured photographers, Wesley Anthony, Anjali Mano, Francesco Aurisicchio, Alfred Schlesier, and Shuddho Huq, and the guest curators, Davide Campo, Federica Natali, Slawo Urban, and Zach Benard, to come together and navigate that "in-between" space through photography and Q&As.
 

As some may know, themes have been approached in a rather unconventional way here at ZOOM OUT, and this is only the second issue with a defined theme, following Issue #3 and its "Your Pocket of the World" theme. To fully embrace the idea that photography should not be bound, but instead remain free and open to all, we review the submissions first and identify a theme afterwards. This time, the submissions naturally pointed towards the idea of "in-betweenness", understood more as a conceptual space than a geographical one. It can take many different forms, such as exploring a new place, experimenting with a new photographic technique, capturing people in motion through transitional spaces, or discovering somewhere unfamiliar through the lens.
 

I'd like to thank all the incredible photographers involved in this Issue, both the featured photographers and the guest curators. It has been truly inspiring to collaborate with you, and I'm so grateful our paths crossed because of this creative project. Every time I work on ZOOM OUT, I learn something new about both the world and photography. Even more rewarding are the connections and friendships that grow along the way. Four issues in, I can confidently say that ZOOM OUT has become a community, and I'm incredibly grateful for it, and I'd also like to thank everyone who supports this project, it means a lot.
